About this year’s charity

“The Bemus Point United Methodist Church Food Pantry services needy Families in the Bemus Point area.  We also service people who attend our church even if they live out of the area.  The number of families we serve varies as people’s situations change.  When people have major illnesses or job losses etc. we try to help them.  Our pantry works on a personal basis.  People can call the church and ask for help.   Also sometimes people let us know of someone’s need.  The food is given to them on a personal basis and is always confidential.  We are blessed to have support from our church; two other churches in the area; the Boy Scouts collect food for us once a year; the Girl Scouts also help us occasionally; and once a year the VFW donates money to us.  We appreciate donations of money as well as non perishable goods.  The money is used to buy perishable items such as meat, fresh fruit and vegetables; dairy products, bread etc.  We try to provide food for nourishing and well balanced meals.  The number of families we serve varies as people’s needs vary.  It is usually between 10 to 12 families a month”. - Gene Norris, Bemus Point United Methodist Church Last Year's Sponsors:
